POEM- SKATING ON MELTING RINGS  

The rings melting

the sirens loud

I have skates on

and keys to escape now

looking back

the crowds rushing

towards somewhere

I wouldn't see

eyes on the ice

eyes on the rings

eyes on the podiums 

leaving wouldn't achieve

the medals ready

the champion stuck

the skates are on

in field of rust

dare I leave

the skate wont slide

I have keys 

throwed them aside

wanting to skate

too scared to try

what if I fall?

what if I don't try?

what if they laugh?

what if I cry?

i stood there

the water begs my toe

this skater will skate

doesn't matter, if on ice or this hope.
